3 Easy & DELICIOUS Ways To Get More Protein In Your Diet

Maybe you’re here because you love healthy desserts and are curious about the benefits of a diet that’s higher in protein…

Or maybe you already know all of the benefits of eating more protein, such as a higher metabolism and maintaining (and building) lean muscle for a strong and fit body and the idea of getting your protein by eating yummy treats piqued your interest…

Either way, you’ve come to the right place, so read this entire page to see what I’ve got for you!

dessert-fit-angelHey there, it's Helen, aka "The Dessert Angel".

I know how important it is to get enough protein in your diet too, but sometimes, I just don’t want to eat steak, or chicken or fish to get it!

Sometimes you need something that’s quicker and easier to prepare and doesn’t leave you feeling as heavy as after a full meal.

A popular option is a protein smoothie – but you've got to be careful with them because they can pack a high caloric punch and you can drink 'em down really fast... Plus, I find they don't fill me up for long and I'm hungry soon after.

Protein bars are another popular option, but they’re often filled with dozens of weird-sounding ingredients that seem more fitting on a high school chemistry quiz rather than something you eat!

That’s why I’ve come up with 30 BRAND NEW high protein treat recipes that will help you keep your protein intake high to achieve and maintain a lean and healthy body.

Here Are My 3 Favourite Ways To Eat These Treats:

Here's a Sneak Peek and Feedback for Some of the Tasty High Protein Treats You Get:

"I tried the Perfect Protein Brownies for company, and everyone loved them -- even folks that don't usually eat 'healthy'. I was a bit worried that the protein powder might overpower the taste, but that didn't happen. I was very impressed with the recipe! Thanks!" - Becky M.

"I can’t say enough about these delicious, moist, unbelievable brownies... They were the moistest, most delicious dark brownies I have ever tasted. By the way, if you are not a dark chocolate fan, Helen has a way to make you one... Helen is truly an angel. If you didn't notice her site is called 'The Dessert Angel'... and after emailing her a few times, she is truly as sweet as her web name!” - Annette W.

"Loved 'em! I love that I can have muffins again and feel good about knowing that I am getting 14 g of protein per muffin! A great treat to pair with some scrambled eggs." - Katherine W.

"Amazingly simple, yet yummy. I was scared it might not be very flavorful because there is no sweetener in this recipe. Boy was I wrong. They were great!” - Leisa M.

"I baked and tried your recipes. They were all so easy to make and took very little time as well. I will definitely be making them again. The Banana Protein Pancakes were very tasty." - Anne S.

"Love the fact that the ingredients aren’t out of this world cost-wise, readily available, can be varied to suit us and can be made up in no time. The biggest thing is that they have such a great amount of protein. These recipes will be made more often for sure!" - Judy H.

"Helen, what makes these recipes high in protein?"

I use 2 main ingredients to make these treats high in protein: whey protein powder and hemp protein powder. They're easily found in stores and online and don't cost an arm and a leg and most people have a tub of whey protein on hand so you can get started making your treats right away.

biotrust-proteinWhey Protein Powder

For the majority of the recipes in this collection, you'll be using whey protein powder. We use BioTrust in our home and for all the recipes, but you can use whatever brand you prefer - inside the guide I'll show you how to substitute your current brand of protein for the recommended amount of BioTrust.

If you're lactose intolerant, get a brand that is made of whey protein isolate - the isolate is almost totally lactose-free and shouldn't cause you any issues. If you're not lactose intolerant, any whey protein powder will do, however I do recommend you find one without artificial sweeteners, colours or flavours, which is why I recommend BioTrust.

hemp

Hemp Protein Powder

I've recently been experimenting baking with hemp protein powder and have included 5 recipes based on it. Not only is hemp protein high in protein, it's also high in fiber and good fats, including hard to get omega-3s.

NOTE: hemp protein is made from the hemp seed and does not contain any THC, the active ingredient in marijuana. You may be relieved or disappointed at hearing this. 😉
